Miss Havisham by jasminetoad Miss Havisham by jasminetoad
One of my favourite Charles Dickens characters, Miss Havisham is of course from "Great Expectations." Left at the altar by her fiance, Miss Havisham still wears her tattered wedding dress and stays locked indoors with the rotting wedding cake. I've portrayed her as a sympathetic character with a sweeter look, ghostly pale from beeing inside for so long, and black widow spiders crawling on her veil. My own original acrylic painting, this debuted at MegaCon 2012. My original acrylic painting. Prints available at [link] and [link]

Happy you like her! It is an acrylic painting on wood. My paintings are all acrylics, done the old fashioned way with a paintbrush =)

This is completely beautiful. I've looked at your gallery and I adore your art style, but there is one thing that for me, detracts from your amazing work. I find that the watermark of your name perhaps only needs to be on the picture once, maybe in a smaller text in the bottom corner of the picture. I simply find that it takes your attention away from the picture and makes it harder to focus upon. This is not a criticism of your work at all, I love it!

Yeah, it'd be nice to be able to just have them unwatermarked, but unfortunately I've had so many legal cases this past year with companies (mostly in China) who snag my online images, try to blur the watermark and sell illegal copies of them. It almost makes me cry to think how much money I've spent on lawyers. When I put multiple watermarks, it's less likely to happen, or at least more of a bother for the thieves. It's sad that a few bad apples spoil it for the rest of the bunch =(

Of course it is, I feel really bad now for posting that comment. It was very ignorant of me and I'm terribly sorry for the trouble those legal cases have caused you.
