could never tire of painting butterflies, definitely one of my favourite things to paint! My favourite in particular is the Blue Morpho, and they feature prominently in this piece. The fairy girl in the background is nearly obscured by the brilliant vibrancy of the fluttering butterfly wings - that is, until you catch her violet eyes looking at you! So much to say about this. First of all the colors are fantastic, the lack of random brightness in the background and the vibrancy in the foreground really adds some awesome depth. The strokes really show up in the blue butterflies the best, especially in the lighting and really gives it something special. The green butterfly in her hair is the absolute best though. :)
